Nanny Pink, AKA Sharon Pickles, has over 30 years of catering experience, starting as a pot washer at the age of 14. She went on to Catering College in her home city of Oxford, going on to cook in small cafés, takeaway food outlets and larger restaurants and then going on to train and supervise others.

For many years Nanny Pink has been aware of allergens and intolerances and how some types of food can affect people’s digestive systems and can also cause some serious life-threatening reactions. She has always made it a priority to have separate areas for food storage, cooking, separate utensils and cleaning regimes to prevent cross contamination as much as is possible. She is proactive in educating others on the whys and the wherefores of this best practice. She is married to a man who has more than 40 years technical experience in the food manufacturing industry and amongst others is an expert in allergens, pathogens and food safety.

Nanny Pink is Gluten and Lactose intolerant so knows just how frustrating it is to go an event and find very few food choices that she can enjoy and not have to compromise and then pay for the privilege of throwing half of it away.

So, the question was… Whatcha gonna do about it Nanny Pink? Well, what she did was do some market research, she saved some money, and she decided that the colour of her hair, which has been PINK for the best part of two decades, just HAD to be the colour of her little trailer.

Nanny Pink works full time in a difficult environment and hopes that ‘Nanny Pink’s’ will be a fun and fulfilling adventure where even just the little things like having Gluten-free Bread Sticks and some Dairy Free Cheeses in a Charcuterie Cup will make your day. She hopes that when you see her little Pink and Yellow trailer you will smile, come over, order something know that you won’t need to throw anything away and you can just go about your day like every other person does without worrying. How amazing would that be?
